2 Injured In Crash On Hwy 77. In Bloomington
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials are investigating after a crash on Highway 77 in Bloomington resulted in serious injuries early Thursday morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, around 2:30 a.m. a crash occurred on the southbound lane of Hwy. 77 near Old Shakopee Road.
Ten MnDOT workers were on the highway, with a crash protection vehicle situated behind them, when the suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Ricky Syonesa of Eagan, struck the rear part of a MnDOT truck.
Two MnDOT trucks were struck in total.
State Patrol said Syonesa became pinned under something and was later transported to HCMC with non-life threatening injuries.
A passenger in the car was also transported to HCMC with non-life threatening injuries.
No MnDOT workers were injured.
Hwy. 77 was closed south of Killebrew drive for several hours while crews worked to clean up the crash.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
