Hwy. 10, I-694 Project Will Cause 2 Years Of Delays
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (WCCO) -- The commute through the north Metro is getting quite the shake-up -- and it'll be that way for the next two years.
A major construction project, ready to roll at Interstate 694 and Highway 10, hopes to reduce the number of crashes in the Arden Hills area.
The two-mile stretch of 694 and Highway 10, between Interstate 35W and Lexington Avenue, will get a major upgrade but that means plenty of delays until that's completed.
Minnesota Department of Transportation crews will be changing the construction of the lanes to help ease congestion and eliminate the weaving drivers have to do in order to merge in that area.
Crews will also be making several improvements to the bridges in the area. With both those projects going on, drivers should expect quite a mess for the next two years.
MnDOT said that area is typically a traffic jam during rush hour and they also see quite a number of accidents on those highways.
