The Minnesota State Patrol says 71-year-old Glenyce Gulbranson was driving a Volvo station wagon that collided with a Chevy Impala at the intersection of Highway 23 and North Shore Drive near Spicer just before 7:30 p.m.
Gulbranson and the other driver, 22-year-old Shelby Davis of Willmar, exited their vehicles to exchange information on Highway 23's median following the crash.
Seventy-year-old Marvin Gulbranson, the Volvo driver's wife, then tried to exit the vehicle when both Gulbransons were struck and killed by a third vehicle.
That driver, 54-year-old Keven Henslin of Champlin, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Davis was not injured.
The Gulbransons, who were both from Spicer, were deacons at Hope Presbyterian Church.
The state patrol is investigating.
