Husband Allegedly Assaults Wife On First Night Of Marriage
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A husband was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife on their first night of marriage in St. Cloud, Minn. early Monday morning.
Thirty-seven-year-old Sterling Raymond Danford, of Alaska, has been charged with fifth degree assault and third degree assault.
According to police, officers responded to a domestic assault complaint at 1:48 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of 9th Avenue.
Danford allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old female, whom he had just married the night before.
Police said Danford also punched his mother-in-law in the face when she tried to stop him.
The female sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Danford is being held in Sherburne County Jail.
