Hunt For St. Paul Winter Carnival Medallion Begins Sunday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Get ready, medallion hunters, it's nearly time for the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt.
The hunt, a St. Paul tradition since 1952, begins with the first clue this Sunday. The hunt challenges readers to solve daily clues and be the first to find a medallion hidden on public land in Ramsey County.

A new clue will be published daily through Thursday, Jan. 30, unless the medallion is found.
This year, jeweler Todd Hawkinson designed the new 2014 medallion, which features a 3-D design floating within it.
Hunters can download the Pioneer Press/TwinCities.com Treasure Hunt app and sign up to receive an email alert each time a clue is posted. Click here for more information.
The finder of the medallion must return it promptly to the Pioneer press to qualify for the initial $2,500 cash prize. The finder can win an additional $2,500 for bringing in all the published clues, clipped or copied from the Pioneer Press or printed from TwinCities.com and providing them with the found medallion.
An additional $5,000 will be awarded to the finder if he or she is a registered 2014 Winter Carnival Button owner and has mailed an official entry form postmarked by Friday, Jan. 17, to the Winter Carnival office, or has registered online at Winter-Carnival.com by 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 17.
