How To Handle Your Dry Lawn
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- When the summer gets dry, your grass needs about three to five hours of watering per week.
You should also wait until the middle of August to apply any fertilizer, and do not fertilize the lawn if it's brown.
Make sure to sharpen those mower blades because grass is made out of 85 percent water.
"You can lose a huge amount of water on your lawn from a dull mower blade," said lawn expert Sonja Anderson. "With that sharp cut, that stops the grass from browning."
Also, leave your grass grow a bit longer -- about 3.5 inches.
