Hill-Murray Coach Resigns In Wake Of Prostitution Arrest
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Hill-Murray's head football coach resigned Tuesday afternoon, the school said, in the wake of being arrested during a prostitution sting Friday in Fridley, Minn.
Mark Mauer, 54, of Woodbury, Minn., is the cousin of Twins star catcher Joe Mauer, and has coached at the Twin Cities Catholic high school for one year after replacing Brooks Bollinger.
Police say Mark Mauer had agreed to pay $100 for "full service."
After being taken into custody, Mark Mauer told police he was "just messing around" and that it was stupid to come to the hotel.
