Highway 8 Closure Extended Through October
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Drivers hoping to get back on Highway 8 will have to wait longer than expected.
The portion of the highway between the north and south intersections of Highway 95 was closed last week so maintenance crews could stabilize the road and adjacent slopes. The road was expected to reopen Friday.
MnDOT extended the closure due to additional deterioration caused by rainfall. The highway is now expected to reopen in October, according to MnDOT.
The area of road where deterioration occurred has been temporarily stabilized.
MnDOT advises drivers to follow the posted detour using Highway 95, Highway 243 and Wisconsin Highway 35.
