Highway 41 In Chaska Reopens
CHASKA, Minn. (WCCO) -- Chaska motorists, rejoice. The Minnesota Department of Transportation has reopened both directions of Highway 41, spanning the Minnesota River.
Crews patched the pavement and made initial repairs in order to speed up the process to reopen the roadway Monday.
However, officials say if a second Minnesota River crest encroaches the road, Highway 41 will close again.
Additional safety devices have been placed along the highway until non-critical, off-roadway repairs can be made, which will take place after floodwaters recede.
MnDOT would like to remind motorists to proceed with caution, go slow in work zones and stay away from roads that have been blocked with barriers or cones.
The highway was closed since March 23, between north of Highway 169 in Chaska and Flying Cloud Drive.
