Highway 100 Closing For The Weekend In SW Metro
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Transportation officials say Highway 100 will be closed in the southwest metro this weekend as crews demolish a railway bridge over the roadway.
Drivers traveling in St. Louis Park, Golden Valley and Edina will encounter a detour on both directions of Highway 100, starting Friday morning. Crews will be closing the ramps along Highway 100 between Interstate 394 in the north and Highway 62 in the south.
By 10 p.m., both directions of the highway should be closed.
MnDOT says travelers should allow for extra time, keep an eye out for detours, or find an alternative route.
Highway 100 should reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
Officials say the demolition of the railway bridge is part of a multi-year project to improve safety on Highway 100 and support economic growth along the corridor.
