Highway 100 Reopens After Rush Hour Shutdown
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Commuters in the west metro were forced to deal with delays as Highway 100 was closed to traffic in both directions for a period of time in St. Louis Park Wednesday morning.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said that the incident happened at the intersection of Highway 100 and Excelsior Boulevard.
At about 7:15 a.m., MnDOT said that the southbound side of the highway was closed to traffic. About 15 minutes later, they added that northbound traffic had also been closed off.
The Minnesota State Patrol said that a pedestrian was causing the shutdown.
Fire crews were able to rescue the person and the lanes reopened a little bit after 10 a.m., according to the State Patrol.
