High-Tech Bingo Coming To Boost New Stadium Funds
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There is now another way to gamble and help pay for the new Vikings stadium: electronic bingo.
The Minnesota Gambling Control Board approved the high-tech bingo on Monday.
The "linked bingo" games allow gamblers at different locations to play together, increasing the size of jackpots.
Right now there are electronic pulltab machines in about 200 locations in Minnesota, but so far those machines haven't been bringing in as much money as expected for the Vikings stadium.

Supporters claim adding e-bingo -- with jackpots as high as $75,000 -- will help boost interest for the games, both among charities that sponsor them and among players.
There will be many smaller prizes as well, and Spanky Coleman's says 70 percent of the money generated will go into paying prizes. It costs 25 cents per card to play bingo, and the games will run from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m.
Electronic pulltabs will also be available on the same machines as e-bingo.
