Charges: Woman Found Driving With Heroin In Her Underwear

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Roseville woman is facing charges after she was found driving while high with heroin in her underwear.

Jennifer Marie Joyner, 28, has been charged with one count of controlled substance in the fifth degree and one count of third degree driving while impaired.

According to the criminal complaint, just after 12:30 a.m. Monday officers responded to a call of a woman in need of help on the 7500 block of Lake Drive in Lino Lakes.

Upon arrival, officers found the woman, later identified as Joyner, very paranoid. She told police that she had seen a hand gun coming out of her back seat.

The complaint states that Joyner told authorities that there was a woman in her trunk with a gun and as she was driving the woman began to point the gun out toward her from the back seat.

Police did not find anyone in the car upon inspection.

Joyner admitted to officers that she had previously used heroin, and police did find tin foil in the driver's side door pocket that had a black, burnt residue.

According to the criminal complaint, officers then asked Joyner tom complete a number of sobriety tests. Joyner consented and failed them all.

Joyner was then taken to Mercy Hospital where officers executed a search warrant and tested her blood.

During the search at the hospital, a baggie with heroin in it was located.

If found guilty of both charges Joyner could face up to six years in prison, $13,000 in fines or both.
