Health Overhaul's Anniversary Marked In Minnesota
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov. Mark Dayton's top health adviser is joining Sen. Al Franken and U.S. Reps. Betty McCollum and Keith Ellison to praise the federal health care overhaul on its one-year anniversary.
Health Commissioner Ed Ehlinger holds a news conference Friday with the Democratic members of Congress.
Survivors of cancer, AIDS and other diseases will also share their stories.
The event is organized by the Minnesota Patient Advocacy Coalition, a patient group that supports the federal law.
Dayton, a Democrat, has embraced the law by ordering an expansion of Medicaid health care for the poor and seeking grants, including planning money for an online health marketplace.
