Health Experts: Cold Won't Make You Sick
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- You might think that this freezing cold would make the influenza outbreak worse. But Kris Ehresmann, with the Minnesota Department of Health, says that's not so.
"Now the thinking is, that perhaps it has something to do with humidity, so it would have less to do with the actual temperatures, but certainly when it's cold, and we're inside together, that provides more opportunity for transmission," Ehresmann said

As far as when the peak of the influenza will come, Ehresmann said it's still too early to say because they continue to get a steady stream of new cases every day.
She called this year's influenza outbreak typical.
"Unlike the pandemic, where we saw more deaths in young adults, this year is more typical in that we are seeing more of the deaths in the elderly," she said.
So far this year, 60 people have died from influenza this season in Minnesota.
