1 Dead, 1 Critically Hurt In Head-On Crash On Minnetonka Boulevard
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A crash in Minnetonka is tying up traffic Friday afternoon.
According to city authorities, the crash happened along Minnetonka Boulevard in Hopkins.
A source told WCCO a police officer was chasing someone this afternoon when the suspect hit another car head-on. The suspect driver died. The driver of the other car is critically hurt.
The chase began when police saw a vehicle speeding and attempted to pull the driver over, according to city officials. The driver did not stop, and police stopped chasing the driver when speeds became unsafe.
The injured driver was identified by State Patrol as 59-year-old Karen Ann Webster. The deceased driver is a 30-year-old man from Montrose, according to State Patrol.
The roadway was closed in both directions from Oakridge Road to Hopkins Crossroads.
