Hamel Rodeo Features Monkeys Riding Dogs, Herding Sheep

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Yes, indeed, those are monkeys riding saddled dogs while herding sheep.

And that's just one of the many shows taking place this weekend at the Hamel Rodeo in Hamel, Minn.

"These dogs are gathering dogs, they'll bring the sheep to you no matter where you're at," Tim Lepard said.

Lepard said he's wanted a monkey since he was 6 years old. Well, his dream has been realized.

"When I got into rodeo, I thought 'I want to do something with a monkey, and do something everyone won't ever forget,'" Lepard said.
