Around 5 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2011, authorities say two men knocked on the door of a house on the 7000 block of Halifax Avenue North. When one of the residents opened the door, four men pushed their way in at gunpoint. One victim was hit on the right side of the face.
Meanwhile, a resident was able to slip into a bathroom and text his girlfriend, alerting her that a robbery was happening and to call police.
Police were then dispatched and surrounded the house.
The men held the father, his sister, her boyfriend and their 1-year-old child in the house and a five hour standoff ensued. The family members were eventually able to escape.
All four men were arrested and two handguns were found hidden in the house, the complaint said.
