Group Home Worker Accused Of Rape By Knifepoint
RICHFIELD (WCCO) -- A 43-year-old employee at a Richfield group home has been charged with raping a coworker by knifepoint, according to authorities.
The Hennepin County District Court charged Peter Nyakeoga Osebe of Maplewood with first-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection to the Dec. 2, 2011 incident.
According to court documents, the victim was leaving work on the day of the incident when Osebe entered the office and grabbed her arm. When she said she wasn't interested, Osebe turned the lights off in the office and threw her to the ground.
The victim told police that Osebe then climbed on top of her, pressed a knife against her throat and raped her.
An investigation recovered a semen sample on the office floor and later tests matched it with Osebe's DNA.
Osebe is in custody. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison and/or a $12,000 to $40,000 fine with a conditional release.
