Gov. Scott Walker Downplays Presidential Talk
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker is distancing himself from talk of running for president after word surfaced he's working on a memoir.
The Sentinel imprint of Penguin Group announced Tuesday Walker is writing the book with President George W. Bush's former chief speechwriter. It set for release later this year. Walker has said in the past running for president is an option although he wasn't actively pursuing it.
During a question-and-answer period with reporters Wednesday, Walker says the book is vehicle for conveying lessons he's learned as governor to other states.
Walker, who faces re-election next year, says he's satisfied with being governor and loves the job. He says he doesn't see any changes in what he called the foreseeable future.
