Gov. Dayton Loses Dog To Cancer
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Governor Mark Dayton lost his beloved dog, Dakota, to cancer on Wednesday.
The German shepherd died after fighting cancer for three years.
On his Facebook page, Dayton wrote that he fed her around 5:30 Wednesday morning. When he checked on her an hour later, she was dead.
Dayton called Dakota his protector and pal and said he'll miss her enormously.
Dayton has another dog, Mesabi, who is Dakota's brother.
