GOP's Cain: 'We Are Living A National Nightmare'
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Businessman and Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says he understands the anxiety of Americans, telling a gathering of conservative bloggers that "we are living a national nightmare."
Cain closed out the RightOnline Conference Saturday night with a sales pitch for his 2012 campaign. RightOnline is the conservative answer to liberal Netroots Nation, which was holding its national convention down the street.
The former CEO of Godfather's Pizza is staking a claim as the Republican race's true outsider with the private sector credentials to prove it.
Cain cited struggles with energy, foreign policy and entitlement spending to back up his nightmare comments. He called for tax cuts to spur the economy.
Cain was the third presidential candidate to address the gathering. Minnesota Republicans Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty also spoke.
