Gophers Hockey Solidifies 2014-15 Big Ten Schedule
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The University of Minnesota men's hockey team said Tuesday it has confirmed its 2014-15 Big Ten schedule, and all but one series will be games on Friday and Saturday.
The Gophers won the inaugural Big Ten Conference regular season title last year on the way to making a run to the Frozen Four and eventually the national title game. Minnesota will open its Big Ten schedule Dec. 5-6 against Michigan State at Mariucci Arena.
The dates now set are at Michigan (Jan. 9-10), home against Wisconsin (Jan. 16-17), at Wisconsin (Jan. 30-31), home against Ohio State (Feb. 6-7), home against Michigan (Feb. 13-14) and at Penn State (Feb. 20-21. Officials said the lone Thursday-Friday series will be against Michigan State at Mariucci Arena, Feb. 26-27.
Program officials also said their non-conference game against Notre Dame, originally scheduled for Nov. 8, has been moved to Nov. 9. Game times will be announced at a later date.
The Gophers have won three straight regular season conference titles and been to the Frozen Four in two out of the last three years.
