Gophers' Banham Named Big Ten Player Of The Year
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- University of Minnesota senior guard Rachel Banham was named the Big Ten's Player of the Year on Monday.
Banham was also a unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selection. It's the second straight year the Gophers have had the league's Player of the Year with Amanda Zahui B. winning it last year.
In league play, Banham averaged more than 30 points per game and broke the career Big Ten scoring mark. She also set a league single-game record with 60 points against Northwestern.
For the entire regular season, she was second in the nation in scoring with 27.7 points per game and scored at least 20 points in 27 of 29 games.
