Gophers Amidst A WCHA Logjam For The Title
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Gopher men's hockey team winds up the regular WCHA season this weekend at Bemidji State in one of the wildest finishes in recent memory.
The Gophers have been practicing at the smaller Ridder Arena this week in preparation for the same dimensions they will encounter at Bemidji State on Friday and Saturday.
It's quite the jam at the top of the WCHA, with just four points separating the top five teams.
St. Cloud State still leads with 35 points. The Gophers and North Dakota are next with 33, while Minnesota State Mankato and Wisconsin each have 31.
The Huskies finish up at Wisconsin, so when the smoke clears after Saturday night, the combinations are endless.
