Gopher Basketball Announces 2015-16 Big Ten Schedule
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota men's basketball team announced its schedule for the 2015-16 Big Ten season on Thursday, and the Gophers will be tested often.
Minnesota is looking to bounce back from a 6-12 record in Big Ten play last year in Richard Pitino's second season. The Gophers will open league play on the road Dec. 30 at Ohio State. Minnesota returns home on Jan. 2, 2016, against Michigan State.
Other league games at Williams Arena will include Northwestern (Jan. 9), Indiana (Jan. 16), Illinois (Jan. 23), Purdue (Jan. 27), Michigan (Feb. 10), Maryland (Feb. 18), Rutgers (Feb. 23) and Wisconsin on March 2. In road games, the Gophers travel to Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan, Indiana, Northwestern, Iowa, Illinois and Rutgers.
The Big Ten Tournament, which determines the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, starts March 13 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.
