Gopher Baseball Moves Metrodome Tournament To Arizona
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota baseball team will host an annual early-season tournament in Arizona this year.
The university announced the move of the Dairy Queen Classic from the Metrodome to the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, where the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox used to hold spring training. The Metrodome is currently unusable because of damage to the roof sustained in last month's snowstorm.
Minnesota, South Alabama, Oklahoma State and Washington will play each other once during the weekend of Mar. 4-6.
The Gophers also announced their three-game home series against Cal Poly the weekend of Mar. 25-27 will be on the road instead.
