Girl Scouts Mark 100th Birthday With Party At MOA
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) -- The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys is turning 100 -- and it's hosting a weekend celebration at the Mall of America to mark the occasion.
Events on Saturday will include a presentation by the Raptor Center, Zumba dancing and an Iron Cookie Challenge. Sunday's events include a style show and a Skype interview with Arctic explorer Ann Bancroft.
In addition, stores throughout the mall will host interactive activities for girls of all ages. The event is free and open to the public.
Event organizers say the Girl Scouts help girls develop skills to become leaders with courage, confidence and character.
