Get Ready For A Rainy, Snowy Weekend
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Twin Cities is preparing for another messy weekend as a winter storm is set to pass through Minnesota from Friday night through midday Sunday.
According to WCCO meteorologist Lauren Casey, the metro can expect to see rain starting late Friday night/early Saturday morning. The rain will likely continue through Saturday morning, but will turn into a slushy rain/snow mix by midday as colder air moves in.
Snow then takes over Saturday night and early Sunday morning and continues through early Sunday afternoon.
Accumulation models are unclear at the moment, but the metro can expect anywhere from two to four inches of snow.
Western and central Minnesota will be under a Winter Weather Advisory on Saturday. The National Weather Service says snow and sleet is expected, with moderate accumulation on untreated roads and sidewalks. Drivers should be prepared for slick roads and reduced visibility.
