Funeral Arrangements Set For Slain Minn. Officer
COLD SPRING, Minn. (AP) — The funeral for a Cold Spring police officer killed in the line of duty is set for Wednesday.
Thirty-one-year-old Tom Decker was ambushed Thursday and shot twice while responding to a report of a suicidal man. He was married with two sons and two daughters.
His family on Saturday said the visitation would be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Saint John's Abbey and University Church in Collegeville.
The killing shocked residents of Cold Spring, a city of about 4,000 residents about 75 miles northwest of Minneapolis. Many became teary-eyed when reporters asked them about Decker.
The suspected shooter is 34-year-old Ryan Michael Larson of Cold Spring. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.
