From Ponder to AP: Vikings OTAs Roundup
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Vikings have made a concerted effort to surround QB Christian Ponder with more offensive weapons, from nabbing free agent wide receiver Greg Jennings, to moving up in the first round to draft wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.
Jennings sat out on Wednesday, nursing an ankle he turned. However, with assistance in the receiving core, the pressure has to be squarely on Ponder to become the type of
quarterback this team must have to win in the post-season.
He will be challenged by Matt Cassel this year, not Joe Webb, who has been moved to wide receiver.
But it's always about Adrian Peterson, the NFL MVP after rushing for more than 2,000 yards as he came back from ACL surgery.
This off-season he had surgery to repair a sports hernia, and to no one's surprise, he said today he is feeling better than ever.
"It's always in my mindset to come back and be better than the year before," Peterson said.
