Fridley Man Sentenced For Conspiring To Distribute Drugs
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 48-year-old Fridley man was sentenced to prison in federal court for conspiring to distribute heroin and oxycodone, which is the narcotic found in the prescription drug oxycontin, the United States Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
Scott Homer McKinley faces 188 months in prison on one count of conspiracy to distribute both of the drugs. He was indicted on June 23, 2010 and pleaded guilty on Sept. 14, 2010.
McKinley admitted in his plea agreement to conspiring with others to distribute the drugs in the Twin Cities from 2004 through June 23, 2010. During that time, McKinley obtained 150 grams of heroin and 25 grams of oxycodone from sources in Minneapolis, Chicago and elsewhere.
One of Mckinley's related defendants, 37-year-old Ako Kalonji Dennis of Des Moines, Iowa, has already been sentenced. Another defendant, 38-year-old Roy Joseph Keyes of Minneapolis, is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 4, 2010.
