Friday Night's Freezing Twins Game Complete With Free Hot Cocoa Or Coffee
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The cleanup is still going on at Target Field to get the stadium ready to host the National League Mets at 7:10 p.m. Friday.
The extra crews, brought in during yesterday's storm, have actually managed to stay ahead of the snow after working into the night on Wednesday.
Vanquishing the snow in the seats with hot water, and melting it on the field with heaters underneath the infrastructure, team spokesman Kevin Smith says the club is working to ensure Friday's game takes place.
That's because the three-game series – an inter-league match-up – wouldn't be easy to reschedule, either.
"The New York Mets are not coming back," Smith said. "If this were Kansas City, or Detroit, a team we play 18 times this season, it might be a little different."
Those who do attend will be getting free hot cocoa and coffee.
You heard right! We're giving out free cups of coffee and hot coco at all gates to help our dedicated fans stay warm in this chilly weather!
