Freezing Fog In Store For Most Of Minn.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A freezing fog advisory has been issued for most of Minnesota from late Saturday night through Sunday morning, reports the National Weather Service (NOAA).
The advisory is in effect from midnight until Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Visibility could be at a 1/4 mile or less as temperatures drop and dense fog freezes.
The fog will make for rough roads throughout the middle of the night, with the possibility of light icing on untreated roadways, bridges and overpasses.
WCCO meteorologist Lauren Casey says Central and western Minnesota are most at risk for icing since temps may fall to the 20s, but northern Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin are not out of the woods.
NOAA suggests drivers should slow down, use headlights and leave several car lengths ahead of them.
