Frazier: Peterson Decision Won't Come Until Sunday
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Almost from the moment he went down with a torn left ACL, Adrian Peterson has been pushing to be back in the lineup for the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener. If that does happen against Jacksonville on Sunday, coach Leslie Frazier says it will be "with limited exposure."
Frazier says the Vikings will take the decision on Peterson's status all the way up to game day. They're taking as much time as possible to gauge if their star running back is healthy enough to play after missing the entire preseason while rehabbing his injury.
Peterson has worked tirelessly to get back from his injury as soon as possible. Backup Toby Gerhart figures to get plenty of carries, even if Peterson does return to the field Sunday.
