Franken Fights For More TSA Agents At MSP Security Checkpoints
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Sen. Al Franken joined Gov. Mark Dayton and Sen. Amy Klobuchar in the fight to fix the security checkpoints at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.
Last month, TSA consolidated checkpoints, claiming it would ease congestion.
Instead, lines have increased to nearly hour-long wait times.
On Wednesday, Franken wrote a letter to top Senate members asking for strong support funding for more TSA agents.
"The combination of more travelers and fewer screeners has placed greater pressure on TSA security checkpoints, and the result has been longer wait lines," Franken said. "I respectfully request [strong funding] for the TSA to address any staffing deficiencies and reduce the wait times at TSA security checkpoints."
Franken said more TSA agents would help fix the bottleneck now facing Minnesota travelers.
