MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Crews have been working the past few weeks preparing Fort Snelling National Cemetery in the Twin Cities for the annual Memorial Day program Monday.
"Fort Snelling is the third largest, fourth busiest, national cemetery of the 131 national cemeteries," said Artis Parker, acting director of the cemetery.

More than 191,000 people are buried at the cemetery and the number keeps growing.
"We average approximately 20 interments a day which comes up to -- last year we did about 4,700 interments for the year," Parker said.
Parker said there's enough acreage left to maintain the current rate of burials until the year 2050.
The Memorial Day program begins with a parade at 9:45 a.m. Monday morning.
