Former Mpls. Mayor R.T. Rybak Released From Hospital
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak was released from the hospital Tuesday, after suffering a heart attack over the weekend.
Rybak was being treated at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, where he underwent two angioplasty surgeries and had six stents inserted following the Saturday incident.
Rybak, 58, suffered the heart attack while cross-country skiing at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. Friends called 911 after he began having chest pains and had trouble breathing.
According to Rybak's former press secretary, Rybak is in great spirits and has returned to his usual self -- "often joking and being certain that people know the trails were outstanding on Saturday."
This is also evident by his twitter feed.

"He'll be recuperating over the next couple of weeks and beginning work soon after," said former press secretary Andy Holmaas, in a press release. "The family is hoping others will learn from this experience making sure that everyone in their family is aware of their medical health history."
The family is also thanking everyone at Abbott Northwestern as well as the overwhelming support from the community.
