Former Gopher Part Of Lawsuit Against NCAA
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A former Gopher football player is part of a new class action lawsuit against the NCAA.
Joey Balthazor Jr. was a linebacker for the Gophers from 2009 to 2012. He is joining two other former college players to force the NCAA to establish a medical monitoring fund.
Balthazor says he suffered traumatic head injuries while playing that have since left him with issues like dizziness and irritability and in need of medical monitoring.
If they win, the fund would go to help all college players who suffer long-lasting effects from concussions.
