Former Downtown Neiman Marcus Space Sold
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's been sitting empty since last winter. But now, the former Neiman Marcus building in downtown Minneapolis is off the market.
The state's largest gas utility, CenterPoint Energy, has inked a deal to purchased the property, according to Twin Cities Business.
But don't expect to see any major changes -- yet.
CenterPoint doesn't plan to move into the space until 2015.
The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. announced in July 2012 that it would be closing the 118,000-square-foot Neiman Marcus store on Nicollet Mall.
The store opened in 1991.
Karen Katz, president and chief executive officer of The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc., said the store didn't meet long-term operation goals.
The Minneapolis store had 107 employees, who were offered transfer opportunities to other stores or severance packages.
