Fugitive Flees Police In Forest Lake, Crashes
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota man is in custody after he led police on a chase in Forest Lake Monday morning.
The U.S. Marshals Service says their Northstar Fugitive Task Force was assigned to arrest Jesse Lee Satter for a parole violation. An officer from the Wyoming Police Department pulled Satter over at around 3:30 a.m. Monday, not knowing he was a fugitive, because his headlights weren't on. Wyoming Police say Satter was sitting in the passenger seat of the car and his girlfriend was driving. She later told police Satter told her he intended to "take out the cops."
During the stop, Satter reportedly struggled with a police officer, pushed his girlfriend out of the driver's seat and drove off, hitting a Wyoming police officer, a Wyoming Police squad car and a Forest Lake Police squad car. The Wyoming officer who was hit suffered minor injuries to his leg and torso.
At around 12:30 p.m., Wyoming police spotted a blue Cadillac car near the intersection of Broadway and Highway 61 in Forest Lake. Police say Satter was a passenger in the car. When police approached his vehicle, the car sped off again, and officers drove after him. The car reportedly crashed near the intersection of I-35 and Highway 97. Afterwards, Satter got into the driver's seat and continued the chase.
Police say he headed south on Highway 23 before crashing just before noon in Lino Lakes, where he was arrested.
Satter was wanted for multiple controlled substance violations and was arrested on presumption of assault, fleeing police, obstruction with force and attempting to disarm an officer. His girlfriend was arrested for aiding an offender.
