Fit Body Boot Camp Offers 30-Minute Workout

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We all know the keys to being physically fit are working out and eating right. According to the trainers at Fit Body Boot Camp, there's a third ingredient: accountability.

Every one of their members starts with a nutrition consultation and food plan. Classes run like a team where members face each other for motivation. Students must attend at least three per week. This three-tiered approach to health caters to people's differences.

"No two people are alike," said co-owner Sofia Laasarir. "Everything with nutrition is customized per person. The workouts can be intensified and can be decreased in weights to make sure we can accommodate everyone."

North Loop location co-owners Jon Cookle and Sofia Laasarir make a promise to their clients: access to results, not just equipment.

"We never repeat the same workout," Laasarir said. "The reason is that if repeat, you're going to plateau. With 30-second stations, your muscles aren't going to adapt to that so you continue to get results."

Rather than spending hours at the gym, each session at Fit Body Boot Camp lasts just 30 minutes.

"Thirty minutes in the new thing," said Cookle. "An hour is too long. I train for only 30 minutes. If your intensity is high enough, all you need is 30 minutes."

Cookle feels people fatigue physically and mentally after 30 minutes. Or, if working out for an hour, they coast for 60 minutes.

Member Sarah Swindle started with Fit Body Boot camp just after Thanksgiving. She works out four times a week, and in the last five months she has seen results.

"I've lost over 20 pounds and 7 percent body fat, and I feel great," said Swindle.

Fit Body Boot camp has locations Plymouth, Chanhassen and the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. Cost for four sessions is $29 total as an introductory rate.
