Fire Destroys Beloved Preston Bowling Alley
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A southeastern Minnesota bowling alley and restaurant was destroyed by fire on New Year's Day morning.
Flames ripped through the B & B Olympic Bowl in Preston just after 5:30 a.m. on New Year's Day.
Sheriff Tom Kaase said B & B had been a focal point in the town.
The Minnesota State Patrol had to shut down a nearby highway while firefighters from three towns battled the fire.
Firefighters found one of the bowling alley's owners inside and rescued her.
The sheriff's office says the fire likely originated in the kitchen.
