Fire Damages Two Apt Units In St. Louis Park, Injures 1
ST. LOUIS PARK (WCCO) -- One person suffered minor injuries in a fire that damaged two apartment units in St. Louis Park, according to the city's officials.
Early Friday afternoon, authorities say the fire started at The Edge Of Uptown Apartments, which is located on the 3000 block of Ottawa Avenue. Emergency crews responded at 1:45 p.m. after a report of an explosion and active fire.
When crews arrived, a second floor unit was fully engulfed with flames shooting out the windows. A second unit located directly above the first also sustained some fire damage. The fire was quickly contained and distinguished.
Temporarily displaced residence were provided with Metro Transit busses to keep them warm, and the Red Cross will assist residents of any units unable to be occupied.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
