Fire Damages Osseo-Brooklyn School Bus Company
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Investigators are trying to find out what caused a fire to break out inside a school bus company building early Sunday morning.
The fire began around 7 a.m., starting in a building owned by Osseo-Brooklyn School Bus Company in Maple Grove, which houses more than 60 buses.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found the entire building full of smoke. Maple Grove Fire Chief Scott Anderson said they had to use thermal imaging equipment to find the sourve of the fire as there were buses parked three-deep in about 20 rows.
The building's sprinkler system helped to suppress the fire but firefighters also laid hose lines in order to extinguish the fire completely.
The fire apparently began in the engine compartment of one bus and spread to a second bus before the fire was put out.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
Anderson said it's possible equipment used to keep the bus engines warm may have caused an electrical short, which could've caused the fire.
