Fire Damages Home Under Renovation Near Prior Lake

SPRING LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. (WCCO) -- Fire broke out early Saturday morning at a home undergoing renovations in the south metro.

The fire started around 8 a.m. at a home in Spring Lake Township, which is near Prior Lake.

No one was in the home when the fire started because the house was undergoing renovations.

The fire chief said it was about 5 degrees below zero when the firefighters were called to the scene.

"We were fighting issues with water supply with things freezing up but our initial truck made a good attack and then we ended up freezing up a number of trucks but we repositioned trucks and put the fire out," said Prior Lake Fire Chief Doug Hartman.
