Cops: Father Stabbed By Daughter's Mother At Child's Birthday Party
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis woman has been charged with second-degree assault for stabbing the father of her daughter on their child's birthday, police say.
According to the complaint, Amanda Marie Butcher, 30, was intoxicated when her daughter's father reportedly arrived late on Saturday for the birthday party on the 3400 block of Russell Ave. N. Police said she then threw multiple items at the man before tossing a steak knife that hit him directly in the leg.
When police arrived on the scene, they said the man was walking down the front steps of the home yelling, "she stabbed me." Authorities said blood was running down his leg and that he had a puncture wound.
Butcher, who is in police custody, now faces up to seven years in prison and/or a $14,000 fine for the felony charge.
