Father Of Missing Crystal Boy Goes On Nancy Grace
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - It has now been nine days since a Twin Cities boy vanished outside his home.
A van dropped Barway Collins off at his apartment building in Crystal after school last Wednesday.
The 10-year-old hasn't been seen since. Police say the fourth grader's father is a suspect in his disappearance.
They said Pierre Collins went to a park near the Mississippi River shortly after Barway went missing.
It's about a 10-minute drive from the family's home.
On Thursday night, Pierre Collins was among the volunteers handing out flyers with information about his son, Barway. He's helping with the search, though he remains the primary suspect. Barway's disappearance is now receiving national attention.
On Thursday, Pierre Collins appeared on the Nancy Grace Show on CNN.
When Grace told him that his polygraph test showed signs of deception, Collins said it was because he was emotional when police gave him the test.
"I did not see my son that day," Collins told Grace. "I saw him for the last time in the morning when he was getting ready for school. That's the last time I saw him."
Police believe Collins continues to withhold information.
As his school van is pulling up to his home, Barway is heard saying, "There's my dad," and, "There's my uncle." Police want to know who the uncle was, but Collins said he doesn't know.
Collins also told Grace he never saw his son come home from school.
"I was leaving home, going to the store to get food for the other kids," he told Grace.
Police believe Barway was last seen around 4:15 p.m. on March 18.
Police said they are concerned about the two-hour window that day, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
A $12,000 reward is being offered in this investigation.
Pastor Harding Smith, who was with Collins during the Grace interview, said there will be a gathering outside Barway's apartment starting at noon Saturday.
