State Patrol: Joffre Kolosky Killed On I-35 In North Branch After Rear-Ended By Suspected Drunk Driver
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Sixty-three-year-old Joffre Kolosky is dead after his sedan was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver Friday morning on Interstate 35 in North Branch.
The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened after 8 a.m. on northbound I-35 at Highway 95. Twenty-three-year-old Samuel Dakota Moreno, who was driving a pickup truck, was speeding on the interstate when he struck Kolosky, from Moose Lake, forcing his sedan to drive off the road and roll over.
Investigators say alcohol was a factor in the crash, and Moreno wasn't wearing a seat belt. He was not hurt.
That stretch of the interstate was closed for about three hours. The state patrol is still investigating.
