Fasching Named Big Ten's Third Star Of The Week
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After scoring three goals in a weekend split at Michigan, Hudson Fasching was named the Big Ten's Third Star of the Week on Tuesday.
It's the fifth time that Fasching, a junior with the Gophers, has earned a player of the week honor from the Big Ten and the first time this season. Fasching scored twice Friday night as the Gophers lost to the Wolverines 8-3.
Fasching scored again Saturday night as the Gophers claimed a 3-2 victory to earn a weekend split. The Gophers head into their holiday break leading the Big Ten.
Fasching is second on the Gophers in scoring with 14 points, including eight goals. That ties for the team lead. In 93 career games, Fasching has 70 career points, including 34 goals.
The Gophers are off until Jan. 1-2, 2016, when they host UConn, Ferris State and Harvard for the Mariucci Classic.
